Captain Kenny Bard has a passion for fishing the Great lakes and enjoys sharing his knowledge of this sport with everyone. He comes from a family of fishermen. His grandfather was a commercial fisherman of chubs and whitefish in the 1950s and the 1960s. His father and uncles continued the Great Lakes fishing tradition switching to recreational fishing of different species, such as salmon, Coho salmon, brown trout, lake trout, steelhead, and perch. They have won many tournaments. Kenny was on board for many of these tournaments with his father, including when they won the South Haven Salmon Tournament in 2004. Captain Kenny went on to win some salmon tournaments with his own teammates and was in the top ten in a handful of others. Captain Kenny has fished Lake Michigan all the way from Michigan City to Manistee. With all his experience he has gained much knowledge on how to read the fish and adjust the equipment for different conitions. Today he enjoys sharing his Great Lakes Fishing wisdom with his own sons, ages six and four, and with his charter customers of all ages out of the Port of South Haven.
